Become a Participant

Would your school or library like to participate in choosing the outstanding picture book of the year award?


1. All voting participants must be 6 to 8 years old (1st through 2nd grades)

2. Any class, library class, or afterschool library program may participate

3. Submit a registration form for your class

4. Purchase the four finalists for discussion at your local bookstore, online, or through the Bank Street Bookstore, which offers a special package of all for books. Call 1-800-724-1486 or email books@bankstreet.edu

5. Read the Award Curriculum and book discussion guide for information on how the children can evaluate and choose their favorite titles

6. The 2013 voting deadline is April 19th. Submit your students' votes here.

7. If you would like the special seals to place on the front of your books, 1 gold for the winner and 3 silver for the honor books, please send a stamped, self addressed envelope to:
