Barbara Dubitsky

Mathematics is something one does, not a body of knowledge that one takes in from others. Mathematics is an art form. One must take one's time in doing it as one would take time in painting a picture or writing a book.

Taught 4th through 6th grade and was a math specialist and teacher for elementary and middle school children and teachers.

Has worked extensively in public and private schools to help teachers build their capacity to teach mathematics. Works with teachers in their classrooms and teaches courses and workshops for teachers at the elementary and middle school levels. Has done extensive work creating online courses. Created The Math Place, an online community for teachers and parents to learn mathematics.
